Italy Fail To Reach 2018 World Cup for First Time Since 1958 (Photo)

It's a pity, that Italy will not be able to be part of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia for the first time since 1958 ( 60years) after a goalless draw 0-0 with Sweden in the second leg of their playoff on Monday.

The Swedes qualify with 1-0 on aggregate. With Jakob Johansson's goal in first-leg, which beat Italy's captain Gianluigi Buffon through a deflection, was enough to deny the Azzurri a World cup ticket on Monday evening.

After missing out on the two previous tournaments in 2010 and 2014, the Sweden are now back at the World Cup.
The Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon who plans to retire after next year's World Cup, collected his 175th international cap against the Swedes, which will now probably be his last for Italy.
